Spring sits in the heart of Greater Houston's Klein-area subdivisions, where mature pines tower over 1980s homes and newer construction alike, all rooted in the same unforgiving expansive clay that defines Gulf Coast property management.

Homeowners in Spring (77379) call Houston Fence Company because we understand the local challenge: that clay swells and shrinks with every wet-dry cycle, heaving fence posts out of plumb and rotting untreated wood at the ground line. We have been installing and repairing fences here since 2015, and we know that almost every leaning fence in this market is a post problem, not a panel problem.

Fence Service in Spring, Texas (77379)

Spring's housing stock ranges from established single-family homes with aging wood privacy fences to the master-planned subdivisions that ring the Klein area, where HOA architectural standards govern fence height, material, and color. The terrain is flat to gently rolling, typical Gulf Coast, with mature pines that create wind load and shade, and the soil is the defining local fact. Expansive clay heaves fence posts, humidity rots untreated wood at the ground line, and spring storms and summer wind events put real stress on fence lines and gates.

We have served Spring and the surrounding Houston area since 2015, installing and repairing wood, vinyl, chain link, and ornamental metal fences. Our crews are fully insured and bonded, and we are members of the American Fence Association. We work with the Spring building department and HOA architectural committees to ensure every fence meets local code and deed restrictions.

Our services in Spring

How a Fence Job Works in Spring

We start with a free on-site assessment. You describe what you need, we walk the fence line, measure the run, identify post locations, and discuss material, height, and local setback and visibility rules. If your fence is damaged or leaning, we explain whether repair or replacement makes sense and what it will cost. If you have a current survey, bring it so we can install on the line you identify.

Before we dig, we call 811 for a utility locate, as required by Texas law. Our crews set posts in concrete at proper spacing, install stringers and pickets or panels square and plumb, and use galvanized hardware and hardware-grade fasteners so your fence lasts. If you have an HOA, we coordinate with the architectural committee on material and color. For automatic driveway gates, we handle the operator installation, safety testing, and final adjustment on-site.

When the work is done, we clean up all debris and walk through the job with you. Your property is left ready to use.

Pricing for fence work in Spring depends on material, linear footage, post condition, and site access. Wood privacy fence runs from $27 per linear foot, vinyl from $38 per linear foot, and chain link from $16 per linear foot. Aluminum and ornamental metal start at $42 per linear foot. Fence repair jobs start at $450, post repair and replacement at $450, and gate installation at $475. A complete fence replacement and removal runs from $2,400 depending on the run length and debris volume. Automatic driveway gates start at $2,800. Call us at (832) 981-7212 for a free estimate. We will walk your fence line, identify what needs to be done, and give you a firm price before we start work.

My fence is leaning badly in the Klein subdivision where I live. Is it the posts or the panels?
Almost always the posts. Spring's expansive clay heaves posts up and down with wet and dry cycles, and that movement racks the fence and throws it out of plumb. If the posts are set in tamped soil instead of concrete, they heave more and faster. We dig down to check the post condition, measure how far the fence has moved, and tell you whether the posts can be reset and re-braced or whether replacement is the better spend.
A spring storm knocked down a section of my fence. Can you help me document it for my insurance claim?
Yes. We can photograph the damage, measure the affected section, and provide a detailed damage assessment and repair estimate. Take your own photos too, and contact your insurance agent right away. We can help you document what happened, but the decision to approve or cover the claim rests with your insurer. Call us at (832) 981-7212 to schedule a damage assessment.
What is the difference between wood and vinyl fence, and which one lasts longer in Spring?
Wood (cedar or pressure-treated pine) is more affordable upfront, around $27 per linear foot, but needs re-staining every two to three years in our humid climate, and untreated wood rots at the ground line. Vinyl runs $38 per linear foot and does not rot or need staining, but it can crack in extreme cold (rare here) and is more expensive to repair if a panel breaks. Both last 15 to 20 years in Spring if maintained properly. Vinyl is lower maintenance; wood is lower initial cost.
My HOA says my fence has to be cedar. What are the rules, and do I need a permit in Spring?
HOA deed restrictions and architectural standards vary by subdivision in the Klein area and across Spring. Your HOA may govern fence height, material (cedar, vinyl, or metal), color, and style. The City of Spring also has setback and corner-visibility rules. Before you build, check your deed, contact your HOA architectural committee, and call the Spring building department to confirm whether a permit is required for your fence. We work with both and can help coordinate approvals.
My neighbor's tree branches hang over my fence and are shading it. What can I do?
In Texas, property line rules are set by your property survey and local law. If the branches cross the property line onto your land, you can trim them back to the line yourself or hire a contractor. You cannot enter your neighbor's property to trim. If you are unsure where the property line is, a licensed land surveyor can determine it. We work from your existing survey and install or repair fences on the line you identify. For branch trimming, contact a local certified arborist or tree service.
Are you fully insured and bonded for fence work at my Spring home?
Yes. We carry full general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We are also members of the American Fence Association. When you hire us, you have the protection of a fully insured and bonded contractor.
My wood fence is gray and weathered. Can you clean it up and re-stain it instead of replacing it?
Yes, if the wood is structurally sound and the posts are set in concrete. We offer fence staining and restoration starting at $950. We clean the fence, inspect for rot or damage, sand if needed, and apply a quality exterior stain. In Spring's humidity, a cedar fence needs re-staining every two to three years to keep it looking good and to slow rot at the ground line. Call (832) 981-7212 for a free estimate.
